Ornamental grasses are key plants for the natural landscape and can be used to complement and contrast with other perennials, bulbs, and various woody plants, or be integrated with water features. We offer Lomandra longifolia and Lomandra confertifolia from our own cultivation that are growing using tissue culture technique.
We propagate Lomandra longifolia and Lomandra confertifolia in commercial scale all year round since 2004. Our largest market for Ornamental Grasses is Australia.
Gerbera is very popular and widely used in the cut flower industry because of its long vase life. It is the fifth most used cut flower in the world (after rose, carnation, chrysanthemum, and tulip). Gerberas is also widely used in landscaping as bedding plants for borders and flower beds. Gerbera is also important commercially.
Monfori is the sole agent for Schreurs in Indonesia. We started the production of Gerbera for Schreurs from 1999 to 2001 and continue the production from 2004 until now. Currently we are micropropagating more than 80 varieties of Gerbera per annum. We export Gerbera to Holland, Japan, Korea and Australia.
Aglaonema is one of the most popular indoor plants grown and sold today. Native to the tropical swamps and rainforest of Southeastern Asia, Aglaonema is one of the most beautiful foliage plants with a good combination of leaf colour, such as green and red, green and white, pink and green, among others. Aglaonema plants have been cultivated in China and other Asian countries for centuries as plants of good fortune. Thus, Aglaonema plants are commonly referred to as Chinese Evergreens.
Monfori started the production of Aglaonema through tissue culture technique using apical buds since 2005. Aglaonema cultivars are generally sensitive to cold temperatures. In Monfori, we are micropropagating a few Aglaonema cultivars which are cold tolerant.
Cordyline fruticosa , sometimes called ti plant, is native from the Himalayas to the islands of the Pacific Ocean and was ancient introduction eastward across the tropical Pacific to Hawaii. The leaves have long been used for fibers, clothing, food wrappers, and folk medicines, and currently are braided into leis in Hawaii, where the plant is considered sacred by many Hawaiians.
Cordyline australis, Commonly name as cabbage tree, is a widely branched monocot tree endemic to New Zealand. Although at first glance it looks like a tropical plant, it is not, and the plant can thrive in the cooler climates of northern Europe and the cooler areas of the United States, particularly the Pacific Northwest.
Cordyline fruticosa and Cordyline australis are favorite plants amongst commercial landscapers, retail garden centers and home gardeners because of its striking vibrant colour, low-maintenance and hardiness.
